Everyone who was born in 2006 and has activated their KulturPass budget by December 31, 2024 can still use it in 2025.
Whether a KulturPass budget will also be available for those young people born in 2007 will become clear after the new elections, as a new federal government will have to decide on this. Minister of State Claudia Roth will do everything in her power to make this happen.
Following a positive decision, the continuation of the KulturPass would be possible very swiftly, as the structures are in place. Anyone who has already turned 18 by then would be able to use the KulturPass immediately.

All young people who turned 18 in 2024 (born in 2006) and live in Germany were able to activate the personal budget until 31. December 2024 using the online ID procedure with the electronic ID card, the Sparkasse online account, an eID card or an electronic residence permit (eAT). From the 18th birthday, the budget was made available in the KulturPass app. Registration and identification was already possible before the 18th birthday.
Those who turned 18 in 2023 (born in 2005) were able to activate the culture budget until 31.12.2023.
If it has been activated, the budget for the 2006 cohort is valid until 31.12.2025. The 2006 cohort could redeem their budget until 31.12.2024.
A new federal government will have to decide whether the KulturPass will also be available to young people born in 2007. Minister of State Claudia Roth will do all she can to ensure this.
