How to get your budget for culture:

  • Download the app.
  • Create an account in the KulturPass app (register).
  • Find your PIN or apply for a new PIN at the Citizens' Office.
  • Identify yourself with your ID card and PIN

Your budget is approved after identification. Then you will receive your budget when you turn 18.

Get inspired

With the KulturPass, you can take advantage of a wide range of local cultural activities. If you turn 18 in 2024 (year of birth 2006), you will receive a budget of 100 euros. You can use this budget for concerts, cinema, museum and theater visits or to buy books and records. The budget is available to you from your 18th birthday.

If you turned 18 in 2023 (year of birth 2005) and have successfully identified yourself, you can use your budget until December 31, 2024.

All young people who turn 18 in 2024 (born in 2006) and live in Germany can activate the personal budget from March 1, 2024 using an online ID procedure with an electronic ID card, an eID card or an electronic residence permit (eAT). From the 18th birthday, the budget will be made available in the KulturPass app. Registration and identification are already possible before the 18th birthday.
Anyone who turned 18 in 2023 (born in 2005) was able to activate the culture budget until 31.12.2023.

To activate your budget, you must identify yourself in the KulturPass app. You will need one of the following three documents to identify yourself:

  • ID card with online ID function (for German citizens). 
  • eID card (for EU citizens) 
  • Electronic residence permit (for non-EU citizens residing in Germany) 

Identification with a passport is not possible. 

The individual steps for registration and identification are performed directly in the KulturPass app.

The budget is available to you from your 18th birthday. 
You must first register in the KulturPass app and successfully identify yourself.
For those born in 2006, activation is possible from March 1st, 2024. 
For the 2005 cohort, activation was possible until December 31, 2023.

If it has been activated, the budget for the 2005 cohort is valid until 31.12.2024. For the 2006 cohort, the budget can be redeemed until 31.12.2025 after successful activation.
